About THG Crew

A collector's perspective on the One Piece TCG, from someone who built a Fortnite Card community before this one.

My Story

From Fortnite to One Piece

Taking Highground started in 2020. I'd been playing Fortnite since launch in 2017, and by the time the trading card line came out, I knew the game well enough to spot the cards that actually mattered. Not just the obvious chase pulls. The deeper picks: the skins tied to specific seasons, the characters that defined an era, the variants that meant something to people who'd actually been there. I started making content to share that lens with the community, and for three years it was a great run.

Then the new product slowed, then it stopped. After a while of waiting on a relaunch that wasn't coming, I stepped away from making content.

One Piece is what brought me back. I've been watching the show and reading the manga for more than twenty years. At that point the IP isn't a hobby, it's a baseline. When the One Piece TCG launched, the playbook from Fortnite carried straight over: dig into the cards, separate the noise from the signal, find the picks a casual collector might walk past but a fan of the story recognizes instantly. The arcs that hit hardest. The characters that defined moments. The variants that nod to specific scenes. That's the work THG Crew does now.

The Crew

Who you're hearing from

I'm Dylan, the collector behind THG Crew. Built the Fortnite Card content community a few years back, and now I'm turning that same energy toward One Piece. The "crew" part is everyone who shows up: viewers in the comments, friends at the shows, fellow collectors trading takes on the next drop. That's who this is for.

Best way to get in touch is YouTube comments, where I read everything. Catch me in person at the next show on the schedule, or drop a line on social if you've got a card you want a take on. Always happy to talk One Piece.
